The Augusta-Richmond County Commission is seeking contractors for the exterior painting of the Boathouse Community Center in Augusta, Georgia.

There is a mandatory pre-bid meeting on June 29. Bids are due for this project by July 17.

Scope of Work

The awarded contractor is responsible for the minor repairs and replacement of any missing or damaged fascia board, wooden shingles, cleaning and exterior painting of the Boathouse Community Center. High-pressure cleaning on this project is strictly prohibited because it causes water leaks. The contractor is to have at least three years' experience in commercial painting around bodies of water. Any questions the contractor has while completing this project (including, but not limited to color choices, repairs and maintenance) are to be directed to ARPD project management.

When completing work on the exterior siding and fascia, the contractor must first inspect and repair any missing or damaged boards, shingles, etc. When these surfaces have been properly prepared, the contractor is to clean and prime the siding surfaces with a fast-drying, stain-blocking, oil-based primer. Following this procedure, the contractor is to apply two full coats of an approved latex to all exterior siding.

In addition to the coating of the exterior siding, the contractor is to coat any visible surfaces above or under awnings that are to be left in place. Prior to these applications, all nail holes are to be filled and gaps between trim and windows are to be caulked. Any surfaces with existing coatings are also to be cleaned and recoated as instructed with prime and finish coats.

Finished painted materials shall be warranted against defects in materials and application for a period of 12 months.

Owner approved brands include Sherwin-Williams or approved equivalent.
