SSPC Accepting Board Nominations

SSPC: The Society for Protective Coatings announced last week that it is accepting nominations for one position on its Board of Governors, available as part of its upcoming election.

SSPC is accepting nominations for one Facility Owner seat on its Board of Governors this year.

The open position this year is in the Facility Owner category, defined as someone who is “employed by public or private sector owners of assets who are responsible for the maintenance of coatings of heavy or light industrial structures or surfaces.”

Eligibility

According to SSPC’s bylaws, the 13-member board includes three members representing facility owners, as well as two from coating material suppliers, three from other product suppliers, three representing coating contractors, one representing other service providers and one international member.

The requirements for a board member, according to the society’s bylaws, include membership for at least five years and attendance of at least three of the last five SSPC conferences. To be eligible, an individual must also either be a member of a committee, be an SSPC instructor, be a certified contractor for at least three years or have been a local chapter officer.

Nominations will be accepted through March 19; self-nominations are not accepted. Submit a brief statement summarizing the nominee’s qualifications to SSPC executive Bill Worms, via email or via traditional mail at:
