Pennsylvania-based construction products manufacturer Centria recently announced a sustainability enhancement for its Formawall line of insulated metal panels, which reportedly eliminated the halogens from the product’s insulating foam core.

“This voluntary decision reinforces our commitment to continuously—and proactively—meet the sustainability and performance needs of our customers,” said Kim Rager, Product Manager for Insulated Metal Panels. “Centria is proud to be the only manufacturer in the United States to currently offer IMPs with halogen-free foam as a standard product.”

Product Details

The Formawall Dimension Series was originally launched in 1999 and was reportedly the first architectural insulated composite wall system that provided variable panel thickness, variable reveal depths and a variety of panel profiles.

Pennsylvania-based construction products manufacturer CENTRIA recently announced a sustainability enhancement for its Formawall line of insulated metal panels, which reportedly eliminated the halogens from the product’s insulating foam core.

The product line also includes the Formawall Graphix Series, which offers the option to segment the IMPs along the module width, disguising a single panel as multiple smaller panels.

According to Centria, the Formawall with Halogen-Free Foam recently earned a health product declaration through the HPD Collaborative, which provides in-depth ingredient reporting to facilitate transparency for architects and building owners.

“Our customers today want to know and understand the material ingredients in their products to create a more sustainable indoor and outdoor environment,” noted Rager.

“Removing halogen from our architectural line of insulated metal panels is an integral first step toward changing the status quo, and this is just the beginning.”
