Polyurea coatings and linings firm VersaFlex and epoxy linings manufacturer Raven Lining Systems announced through an emailed news release on Monday (Jan. 15) that they have merged, in a deal that went into effect Jan. 1.

Raven Lining Systems

VersaFlex and Raven Lining Systems, suppliers of protective coatings for structures including water and wastewater, announced their merger Monday.

The two coating suppliers are both known for their products designed to protect structures and substrates including potable water, wastewater and infrastructure. The companies noted in announcing the merger that both are committed to educating applicators, through VersaFlex's Polyurea University program and Raven's Certified Applicator Program.

Company Comment

"When an opportunity arises to join forces with another industry leader you have to take advantage. We are excited to become part of the VersaFlex team and leverage each other's strengths to continue to provide the outstanding service our customers have become accustomed to over the past 30 years," said Raven Lining Systems president Rob Pawlak.

"This is truly a strategic merger of brands, leadership, products and service, which will result in a stronger combined company to meet the specialty protective lining and rehabilitation challenges that are ahead," said VersaFlex president Joe Haydu. "We anticipate completing the integration of Raven's Broken Arrow facility into VersaFlex's Kansas City, Kansas, facility by the end of the year."

VersaFlex products, primarily polyureas, include coatings for potable water, concrete sealers, flame-resistant coatings and a small handful of epoxy coatings. Raven Linings' products are primarily epoxies but include some polyureas and polyurethanes, cementitious coatings, primers, sealers and fillers.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
