An association of building envelope consultants, RCI, Inc., last week announced its inaugural RCI Canadian Building Envelop Symposium, set to be held Aug. 24-25 at the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale in Ontario.

“A topic description must be provided addressing the speaker’s subject knowledge and the level of knowledge that will be presented to the attendee (i.e., beginner, intermediate or advanced),” RCI said in its announcement. “Six RCI CEHs will be granted for an accepted paper. Additionally, presenters will earn triple credit for the length of the program (one presentation hour yields three CEHs).”

Some suggested topics include:

  • Facade Systems & Technologies;
  • Unique Facade Design Solutions;
  • The Building Envelope as a Design Statement;
  • Sealants—Design & Selection/Appropriate Specifications/Quality Assurance;
  • EIFS;
  • Metal Wall Panels; and
  • Air-Barrier Systems.

A full list of topic suggestions and requirements can be found here.

Abstracts should be approximately 200 words and should be received by April 13. Authors will be notified by April 20 and, if accepted, papers for peer review should be received by May 25.
