AkzoNobel (Amsterdam) announced Monday (Sept. 4) that its acquisition of Disa Technology (Limoges, France), a leader in aerospace technical marking systems, is complete.

DisaTech also manufactures self-adhesive vinyl, polyester and polycarbonate films used on aircraft and vehicles, as well as other equipment.

AkzoNobel has finalized the acquisition of Disa Technology, a leader in aerospace technical marking systems.

“With the acquisition now finalized we can further invest in growth and innovation,” Ruud Joosten, COO of Paints and Coatings for AkzoNobel, said in a statement. “The technology and knowledge acquired from DisaTech strengthens the product and service range we can offer to our customers, bringing them numerous benefits.”

The move is part of AkzoNobel’s long-term plan to provide more of a comprehensive product portfolio for consumers. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Acquisition Agreement Announcement

In early July, AkzoNobel announced the agreement to acquire the French adhesive film manufacturer.

AkzoNobel employs more than 46,000 people across 80 countries, and according to the company, all Flexcrete staff have been retained.

“They will expand our existing product and service offering, enabling us to deliver significant benefits to our customers,” former CEO of AkzoNobel Ton Büchner said in reference to acquiring Flexcrete Technologies Ltd., and the agreement to acquire DisaTech. “These deals also offer us great opportunities to pursue further coatings innovations in a number of our core markets.”
