With only weeks left to submit an entry for Durability + Design’s inaugural Elevation Awards, we will be counting down to the deadline (May 26) by featuring a select nomination each day, giving you a glimpse of the competition.

If you or one of your clients completed an exceptional project between Jan. 1, 2016, and March 1, 2017, be sure to get your nominations in the running.

As a countdown to the Elevation Awards deadline, Durability + Design will be featuring select nominees (like the one pictured) to give you a glimpse of the competition.

The Elevation Awards are a chance to demonstrate the quality and expertise of your work, get the recognition your work deserves, celebrate your project or team, and differentiate yourself from your competitors.

“Too often, key infrastructure professionals get knee-deep in a great project and then move on to the next one and don’t have the time to recognize what a great project it was,” says Steven Reinstadtler, Market Manager of Construction Coatings, Adhesives and Sealants at Covestro LLC. “The D+D Elevation Award allows a nominator to recognize the key individuals that stepped up and made ‘it’ happen.”

Reinstadtler is one of 12 judges of esteemed industry professionals who will review each entry from nine technical and aesthetic award categories.

The Awards

Projects can be nominated in more than one category at a rate of $395 per entry.

Technical award categories include:

  • Air Barrier/Moisture Management;
  • Floor Coatings + Treatments;
  • Renovation/Retrofit; and
  • Roof Coatings.

Aesthetic award categories include:

  • Commercial Interiors;
  • Commercial Exteriors;
  • Curtain Wall;
  • Distinguished Residential Exteriors; and
  • Public Buildings.

Plus, a Judges’ Choice Award recognizes an outstanding architecture project among the individual category winners that best exemplifies the seamless combination of compelling aesthetics and high performance in the use of coatings and other substrate treatments.

How to Enter

  • Read the rules: Visit www.durabilityanddesign.com/elevation to review eligibility and category requirements and to see the qualifications of our panel of judges.
  • Create your account: Click on the Go to the Nomination Form button at the top right of the Elevation Awards home page to begin the nomination process.
  • Choose your category: Select the technical or aesthetic category (or categories) that best suits your project.
  • Tell us everything: Share the project particulars—everything from the basics such as name and location, contractor, start and end date; to specific details about processes, products and equipment used; substrate, challenges, highlights, end goals and more. Make sure the judges have enough information about the aesthetic and technical aspects of the project to aid in their analysis.
  • Show your work: Upload photos to support the nomination. Not only will this help the judges in the evaluation of your entry, but photos may be used in the summer issue of D+D magazine, where we’ll publish profiles of the inaugural nominees of the Elevation Awards and their projects.
  • Complete the process: Review and confirm the information you’ve submitted, enter your payment and submit your nomination. You can save your entry at any point in the process and come back to add more detail at any time until the closing date.
