PPG Announces Leadership Change

PPG has named Vincent J. Morales senior vice president and chief financial officer, effective March 1.

Vincent J. Morales will become senior vice president and CFO of PPG starting March 1.

Morales' succeeds Frank S. Sklarsky, who will be retiring, effective the same day. Sklarsky was with PPG as CFO for four years.

30 Years at PPG

Morales joined PPG in 1985, the company says, and worked as corporate controller and vice president, investor relations, as well as treasurer, before becoming vice president, finance. The 51-year-old Morales holds a B.S. in accounting from Robert Morris University and an M.B.A. from the Ohio State University.

“Throughout Vince’s more than 30 years at PPG, he has been a change agent and played a key role in our transformation to become a leading provider of paints, coatings and specialty materials,” said PPG chairman and CEO Michael McGarry. “His appointment to this role recognizes his leadership, demonstrated experience in finance, and deep understanding of PPG’s global businesses and strategies.”

Sklarsky Retires

Sklarsky, appointed CFO in August 2013, joined PPG after a career at corporations including Tyco International, Eastman Kodak and Chrysler.

Frank S. Sklarsky will retire March 1 after four years as PPG's CFO.

“During the last four years, Frank has been an instrumental leader for the company through his depth of experience and thought leadership,” McGarry said. “He has been integral in the successful achievement of our continued business portfolio optimization, both strategically and financially. On a personal level, I would also like to thank Frank for his valued support and counsel during my corporate leadership transition.”

PPG is the largest coatings company in the world, with operations in more than 70 countries, and more than $14 billion in annual sales.
