Architectural finisher Linetec will be showcasing a variety of recently introduced finishes at the AIA 2016 Convention, set for May 19-21 in Philadelphia.

An exterior paint designed to give wall systems the look and feel of natural terra cotta as well as a finish made to mimic the look of wood are two of the offerings to be highlighted during the event, according to company announcements.

“Architects like that our faux terra cotta texture colors can be specified on a large variety of shapes and sizes, and on panels manufactured with recycled aluminum content,” said Linetec Vice President Jon Close.

Company representatives will showcase Linetec's line of textured, faux terra cotta finishes for wall panels at Booth #1143 at the AIA Convention and Expo.

While the finish does not replicate the properties and design elements of terra cotta, it "looks and feels like the real thing" on wall panels—and "at a cost that may better fit projects where terra cotta is desired, but cannot be afforded," says Linetec Vice President Jon Close.

Faux Finish Features

The company’s terra cotta finished wall panels are described as lightweight for easy installation and delivered in a short lead time. Seventeen texture finish colors are available.

The finishes reportedly use a 70 percent polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) resin-based coating to stand up to exterior applications.

The coatings are further designed to meet the American Architectural Manufacturers Association’s most stringent specification standard, AAMA 2605-13, "Voluntary Specification, Performance Requirements and Test Procedures for Superior Performing Organic Coatings on Aluminum Extrusions and Panels," Linetec notes.

"These architectural finishes are tested to exhibit outstanding resistance to humidity, color change, chalk, gloss loss and chemicals," according to Linetec.

Wisconsin-based Linetec is one of the nation’s largest paint and anodize finishers, and the largest independent architectural finisher.
