Beloved Dinosaur Mural Gets Painted Over

A British town is in an uproar over a new paint job that mistakenly covered an adored dinosaur mural.

That’s right. A colorful mural once painted on the side of The Oxford Pub in Totterdown, Bristol, was inadvertently covered with coats of white paint this week.

Reports say the accident was a result of a misunderstanding between the painters hired to refresh the pub’s exterior and the pub owner, Jon Evans.

“Everyone is gutted,” local resident Rachel Kelly told the Daily Express.

Mourning the Mural

The 7-foot-long dinosaur had been painted in November 2015 by local renowned street artist Andy Council as part of an arts trail, reports said. The mural mixed the Mesozoic-era beast with architecture, a signature of Council’s work.

The dinosaur will likely not be extinct for long; pub regulars have apparently started a crowd-funding campaign called “Get Me Another Dinosaur” to pay to redo the mural, according to BBC News.

“When I heard it had been painted over I thought it was funny because it was an accident and you do come to expect it,” Council told media outlets.

I wonder if the Christians against Dinosaurs group was behind this nefarious "accident"

Communication is a difficult thing. Try powerwash with a low pressure Karcher. If carefull you might just need to fix the dinosaur.

Christians like dinosaurs, Stephen. Didn't Jesus ride into Jerusalem riding on one?

Use Nutech Eco-Strip and you should be able to remove the New paint without damaging the mural. It might need some repairs but much cheaper and quicker than staring again. Perry Eckert, Nutech Paint Pty Ltd.
