More items for Good Technical Practice

Comment | More

Durability + Design News is pleased to announce the launch of its redesigned newsletter.

In addition to upgraded design elements, the daily architectural coatings news source also features increased usability and additional functionality—in desktop and responsive mobile formats—that will point industry professionals to the content they need to access quickly and easily.

Here's a quick look at what’s new in this first issue of 2016.

Masthead Features

The newsletter header gives you the ability to control your experience right away. The icons that appear under the title allow you to switch to a browser view, jump to one of our social media sites or share the newsletter with a colleague by email.

The redesigned newsletter launched Jan. 4, 2016.

A new feature in the top right corner gives you quick-and-easy access to additional content from our publisher, Technology Publishing Co. New selections will be offered on a regular basis, so keep an eye on this box for changing offerings.

Clean Look, User-Friendly

Everything you’ve come to rely on in the newsletter remains right where you expect it to be—Top Stories, Recent Conversation, Feature of the Week, Weekly Poll, Solve It!, Daily Quiz, Laugh and Blog; nothing has changed there.

But you’ll notice that larger type and images, as well as a more streamlined format, provide a cleaner reading and navigation experience overall.

“Our editorial and development teams are constantly working to address changes in technology and media to give our readers the best possible experience,” said Andy Folmer, vice president of operations, Technology Publishing Co.

DDN redesign

The new D+D News is designed to make it easier for readers to enjoy content on mobile devices and desktops.

“This new design makes our newsletters more user-friendly across devices—on desktop computers, tablets and smartphones,” Folmer said.

The responsive design means that gone are the days of dragging, pinching or squinting to catch up with the latest industry news and events on your mobile devices.

The format will provide readers with a clear, adapted view of the content no matter the access point.

Additionally, hyperlinks on phones and tablets will be more "thumb-friendly," making it easier to tap and view corresponding content on durabilityanddesign.com as well as to share with friends and followers via social media.

Product News Redesign

D+D News' Product News Update has also been revamped and streamlined for easier access for professionals on the go.

The Product News Update is a quick digest of the latest products, services and equipment featured in D+D News. New features include the addition of original headlines that appeared first in D+D News.

…And More on the Website

And don’t forget, you can access a variety of resources at durabilityanddesign.com to help improve your practices and expand your knowledge for your job, and D+D News can help you navigate to that content quickly and seamlessly.

The lower third of the redesigned newsletter provides buttons and links that redirect you to articles, news and more on the site for specific subjects. Topic categories include Color + Design, Coatings Technology, Building Envelope, Maintenance + Renovation, Decorative Finishes and Good Technical Practice.
