Durability + Design News will be ringing in the new year with a new, clean, responsive design geared to professionals on the go.

The changes, which include an updated logo, larger images and fresh graphics, will be rolled out with the Jan. 4 edition.

“In addition to aesthetics, the rapid increase in smartphone use is driving this redesign,” said Andy Folmer, vice president of operations at Technology Publishing Co., D+D News’ publisher. “The updates will go a long way toward improving our readers’ experience.”

Newsletter redesign
Technology Publishing Company

The bold new D+D News is designed to make it easier for readers to enjoy content on mobile devices as well as desktops.

D+D News offers nearly 80,000 readers daily news and information on architectural coatings and related construction materials. Topics covered include color and design, building envelope, maintenance and renovation, decorative finishes, coating technology and good technical practice.

Articles that appear in the newsletter are linked to durabilityanddesign.com—the portal for the architectural coatings industry—which hosts news, features, webinars, eBooks, an events calendar and many other resources.

Responsive Format

The revamped newsletter is designed to make it easier for readers to enjoy content on mobile devices as well as desktops. The responsive design means that gone are the days of dragging, pinching or squinting to catch up with the latest industry news and events.

The format will provide readers with a clear, adapted view of the content no matter the access point.

Moreover, hyperlinks on phones and tablets will be more thumb-friendly, making it easier to tap and view corresponding content on durabilityanddesign.com as well as share with friends and followers via social media.

‘Smart Design’ is Key

“Smart design is a cornerstone of this industry, and the newsletter should always reflect that,” said Ashley Pound, executive director of Digital Product Development.

“We’re excited to start off 2016 with a more refined and functional D+D News.”
