MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA--Who says architecture is out of touch with pop-culture? An Australian firm has designed a mixed-use building inspired by Beyoncé.

Elenberg Fraser unveiled plans for a 68-story skyscraper this week, noting that the curvaceous shape for the structure was borrowed from the pop star’s 2013 “Ghost” music video, which features fabric wrapped dancers.

The Premier Tower, approved for Melbourne, Australia, pays homage to Beyoncé.

Called The Premier Tower, it is described as a structural efficient, complex form that will “redistribute the building’s mass, giving the best results in terms of structural dispersion, frequency oscillation and wind requirements,” according to the studio.

Aesthetic Inspiration

“For those more on the art than science side, we will reveal that the form does pay homage to something more aesthetic—we’re going to trust you’ve seen the music video for Beyoncé’s Ghost,” the firm said.

Plans for the building were approved in May. It will feature 660 apartments and a 160-room hotel near Melbourne’s biggest railway station, Southern Cross.

“What better way for commuters to start their day?” Vogue asks.

The construction timeline has not been announced, nor is it known whether Beyoncé will attend the groundbreaking ceremony.

The design is not the only skyscraper resembling curves of the body, reports Dezeen. The Chinese firm MAD designed a pair of hourglass-shaped skyscrapers in Mississauga, Canada, which have been nicknamed “The Marilyn Monroe Towers” by local residents.
