ACI Releases Updated Concrete Manual

FARMINGTON HILLS, MI—A “must-have” encyclopedia of concrete technology for engineers, architects, contractors and concrete product producers is now available from the American Concrete Institute.

The 2015 edition of the Manual of Concrete Practice provides industry professionals with more than 240 documents concerning concrete practice, according to ACI.

Hundreds of concrete topics are presented in the ACI's 2015 Manual of Concrete Practice, including design and specification writing.

The updated manual contains all of the ACI documents concrete professionals need to answer questions about code requirements, specifications, tolerances, concrete proportions, construction methods, evaluation of test results and more.

Features and Topics

The Manual of Concrete Practice also includes the reorganized 2014 version of ACI 318, Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete and Commentary.

Topics in the manual include:

  • Design of reinforced concrete and masonry structures; 
  • Design and construction of floors on grade, pavements, and parking lots; 
  • Specification writing;
  • Concrete mixture proportioning;
  • Concrete mixing, transporting, and placing; 
  • Hot- and cold-weather concreting;

ACI offers the manual in three formats: a seven-volume hard copy, online, or USB drive.
