PPG Names Global Coatings VP

PITTSBURGH—PPG Industries has announced the appointment of Eric Thiele as vice president and business controller, global architectural coatings and protective and marine coatings.

Thiele, corporate treasurer since 2012, begins his new position June 1. The PPG veteran of nearly 20 years will report to Chief Financial Officer Frank Sklarsky and President/COO Michael McGarry.

Thiele has held various financial leadership roles throughout his tenure with PPG.

Thiele has a bachelor of science degree in economics from Allegheny College and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business.

New Treasurer

PPG also announced that Vince Morales, now vice president of investor relations, would become treasurer and vice president of investor relations. He also will report to Sklarsky.

Morales has advanced through a series of finance leadership roles since joining PPG in 1985. He was appointed to his current position in 2007.

Morales has a bachelor of science degree from Robert Morris University and an MBA from The Ohio State University.

From Coatings to Investors

Scott Minder, currently business controller of industrial and packaging coatings, will become director of investor relations, reporting to Morales. Minder joined PPG in 2009.

Assistant treasurer John Jankowski will also report to Morales. Jankowski will continue to provide leadership to the global treasury staff and in key areas of the treasury function.

"These executives have demonstrates strong performance throughout their careers with PPG," Sklarsky said. "We look forward to their continued contributions as PPG continues to drive value for our customers, employees and shareholders."
