A Florida coatings maker and a faith-based nonprofit have teamed up to provide whiteboard walls to needy schools worldwide.

Together, 360° Coatings and Hope 2 Others (H2O) announced the launch of ReMARKable Hope on Tuesday (Feb. 3).

For every 10 square feet of ReMARKable Whiteboard Paint sold in the U.S., one square foot will be donated to a school in need through ReMARKable Hope.

ReMARKable Hope is “a charitable give-back campaign” that aims to provide educational and creative opportunities to schools worldwide through donations of 360°'s ReMARKable Whiteboard Paint, a clear coating that turns any surface into a dry-erase board.

The campaign ends Dec. 31, 2015.

Donating to the Disadvantaged

For every 10 square feet of ReMARKable dry-erase coating purchased in the U.S., 360° Coatings will donate one square foot of the paint to a school in need.

“In many schools in disadvantaged communities around the world, educational material is too expensive to print, and drywalls are the only way to share academic material with its students,” the coating maker says.

Several hundred square feet of the dry-erase paint has been installed in New Life Band School in Massai Village of Kisongo, in Tanzania.

“Wall space becomes the textbook and the only educational aid available.”

Even the dry-erase coating, which may be reasonably priced for many businesses, schools or households, is too expensive for schools in developing countries, the manufacturer notes.

Building Schools, Clinics

The campaign doesn't end with paint. The partnership plans to build clinics and schools throughout Tanzania and surrounding countries in Africa.

“360 is very excited to kick off this endeavor,” said David Rairick, CEO of 360° Coatings. “[The company] looks forward to teaming up with H20 [to] serve a great need in the lives of Third world children who have a sincere desire to become educated.”

Based in Sun Prairie, WI, Hope 2 Others Inc., is a Christian non-profit ministry whose mission is to improve the quality of life in developing countries.

The organization is currently reaching more than 20 communities with school, clinic, hospital and church sites in Tanzania.

School Installation

Together, Hope 2 Others and 360° Coatings have already improved the lives of teachers and students at the New Life Band School in Massai Village of Kisongo, in Tanzania, according to the company.

There, several hundred square feet of ReMARKable coating was installed.

“Students and teachers participated in the process and are using the walls every day,” the manufacturer added.
