Pecora Corp. has introduced a building envelope barrier system designed to create an airtight membrane when applied.

The XL-Perm Air, Vapor, and Water Barrier System is a four-step solution that assures the continuity of weather barrier systems, according to the Harleysville, PA-based company.

The Process

The XL-Perm Air, Vapor, and Water Barrier System uses compatible products that contain fast-curing liquid, elastomeric membranes, along with sealants and membranes made of silicone.

Pecora Corporation

The XL-Perm Air, Vapor, and Water Barrier System uses a four-step process to ensure that nothing breaks through weather barriers, according to the company.

When the four products are used together, the company says, they achieve 100 percent compatibility when wet or dry.

4 Steps

According to Pecora, the system comprises four steps:

  • Pecora XL-Flash STPU Fast-Curing Liquid Flashing /Joint Filler is a one-part, fast curing, non-sag elastomeric STPU liquid flashing and joint sealant formulated for the air and vapor barrier industry.
  • Pecora XL-Perm ULTRA VP Fluid Applied STPU is applied in a single coat by airless sprayer or roller. It is a durable elastomeric weather-proofing membrane that provides two to three times the coverage of other fluid applied products, according to the company.

XL- Perm ULTRA VP has elasticity and crack-bridging capabilities that contribute contributing to a seamless, durable, and airtight building envelope. It can also be used on damp substrates and green concrete.

  • Pecora AVB Silicone Sealant/Adhesive was designed as a component for transition seals between dissimilar materials in air and vapor barrier systems.
  • Pecora XL-SPAN 100% Silicone Extruded Transition Membrane creates an air- and water-tight barrier that transitions between building facade components.
