Reaching deeper into the remodeling and repair market, PPG Industries Inc. has announced the acquisition of The Homax Group Inc., of Bellingham, WA.

Terms of the deal, announced Thursday (June 5), were not disclosed.

PPG's North American architectural coatings business announced the definitive agreement to acquire The Homax Group, a supplier of decorative wall and ceiling texture repair products.

The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter, subject to customary closing conditions, PPG said.

Homax Business

Homax is a portfolio company of the Olympus Partners investment group.

Founded more than 25 years ago, Homax is a supplier of decorative aerosol drywall and ceiling texturing applications primarily for home repair, according to the announcement.

“The acquisition supports our continuing commitment to providing professional and do-it-yourself customers with leading coatings and related home remodeling and repair products.”
