Ever dreamed of owning your very own Zaha Hadid creation?

Well, that dream could become a reality ... on a small scale, at least.

Dollhouses designed and built by Hadid and 19 other notable architects and designers will be auctioned Nov. 11 at Bonhams, in London. Proceeds will support KIDS, a U.K.-based charity that supports disabled children, young people and their families.

Designed for the KIDS charity project, Zaha Hadid's take on the traditional toy inspires "a continual re-evaluation of composition and form," according to a project description. Bidding for the house is up to £9,000 (about $14,506 USD).

Bidding for the dollhouses has already begun via the auction site, www.adollshouse.co.uk.

As of Thursday (Oct. 17) morning, bidding for Hadid’s model had reached £9,000 (about $14,506 USD), but the site indicates the reserve has not been met.

Children’s Toy as a Springboard

The contest, curated by property developer Cathedral Group, was inspired by Queen Mary's Dolls' House, which architect Sir Edwin Lutyens designed for The British Empire Exhibition at Wembley in 1922. Details on the elaborate, miniature aristocratic residence are available here.

The traditional children’s toy has been used to showcase the best of art, modern architecture, craftsmanship and interior design. (After all, designers are accustomed to creating small-scale models of the buildings they propose.)

FAT Architecture

FAT Architecture in collaboration with artist Grayson Perry developed the "Tower of Fable," a remake of the Balfron Tower in London. The design is described as "Brutalism as exciting as a country cottage." Bids have reached £1,700 (about $2,745 USD).

In the same spirit as the Lutyens dollhouse, the architects and designers in this contest were encouraged to collaborate with other artists, designers and furniture makers.

Each dollhouse was designed to include a unique feature to make life easier for a child with a disability, according to Cathedral Group.
