Technical Lead, Scientific Applications

Duration: 15 Month Contract (potential to extend)

Job Description Working for a global leader in biopharmaceutical research and development, the Technical Lead will provide oversight, coordination and technical direction for two scientific application projects for the Discovery Research group. The projects are focused on the implementation, configuration and integration of Dotmatics (scientific data management, analysis and visualization tool) and Labmatrix (sample management software).

Required Experience

  • 3+ years' experience in IT application delivery, support & management.
  • Biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Experience with scientific application delivery (preferably Discovery Research applications)
  • Strong knowledge of solution development life-cycle (SDLC) techniques and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Knowledge of Discovery Research applications.
  • Experienced and skilled in working in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Excellent active listening, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to facilitate constructive discussions that lead to functional and effective solutions.
  • Ability to interact well with business leads to understand the business problems.
  • Understanding of basic networking and infrastructure a plus.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS) a plus.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership to ensure successful delivery following defined company SDLC process.
  • Ensure the technical solution will satisfy the requirements.
  • Collaborate with project architect, infrastructure team, project manager, vendor as needed.
  • Identify and communicate technical dependencies.
  • Identify technical risks and mitigation activities
  • Work with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues
  • Collaborate with the vendor on developing and implementing robust testing procedures.
  • Provide technical input to the project schedule and plan
  • Provide detailed technical documentation, including Technical Architecture Documents, as well as User Acceptance Testing.
  • Provide work estimates as needed
