Our client is a nationally recognized Architectural firm, headquartered in Orlando, Fl. They are currently searching for a Director of Architecture.

Definition: The Director of Architecture is a senior managerial position responsible for conceptual design, leadership and participation in establishing design goals for the firm.

Qualifications: The Director of Architecture will have a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) with 15 + years experience as an architect/designer with 10 years experience as lead project architect/designer.

Responsibilities:

  • Involved in client nurturing/developing client relationships.
  • Helps to develop full scope design strategies to meet clients’ needs.
  • Assists with hiring Project Architects and other architectural staff.
  • Advocates/contributes to mentoring in-house talent.
  • Committed to the concept of design excellence and constant improvement.
  • Conducts performance reviews.
  • Helps to shape the office vision and mission.
  • Seeks and encourages marketing involvement.
  • Promotes the principles of sustainable design.
  • Enthusiastically promotes design efforts of all departments or focus groups within the office.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADVANCEMENT TO:

  • Vice President of Architecture
  • Vice President of Production

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)) in the following areas:

  • Demonstrate record of success for the responsibilities of this position.
  • The ability to consistently work efficiently and accurately.
  • Demonstrated success at taking on added responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and team building skills.
  • Must attend two of the following seminars team building, mentoring and coaching skills, or assertive leadership skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, able to handle stressful situations and multi-tasking, able to work under time constraints, long hours may be required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Overtime (40+ hours) may be required as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to handle stressful situations, multi-tasking, and working within reasonable time constraints to meet production schedules and budgets. Will work in normal office environment and may also be required to work outside of a normal office from time-to-time.
