PRIMARY AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND PROCESSES: 1. Be the In-house lead Coating Specialist providing technical support and regulatory advocacy (governmental liaison) for the coatings industry. Draft regulatory advocacy briefs and attend meetings or public hearings as needed. 2. Represent and assign staff, when appropriate, to represent SSPC on industry technical committees (e.g.. ASTM, NACE, ISO, ACI, ICRI, Regulatory Revision, and other SSPC Technical Committees). 3. Supervise development of new training materials and revision of existing training materials and courses written in house by qualified staff as well as training material developed by outside vendors. 4. Supervise the procurement and oversee inventory of SSPC owned inspection equipment and tools used in training and certification programs, courses and qualification sessions. 5. Be responsible for conducting periodic audits of existing courses as recommended by the Member Services Dept. This will also involve collaborating with the QP Program Manager when QP auditors are assigned training audit duties 6. Supervise: (1) Technical Materials Developer Position: (2) Protective Coating Specialist Position; (3) Standards Development Specialist Position; (4) Instructional Designer/LMS Specialist Position; (5) Temporary and Part time employees 7. Other duties as assigned. 8. Spend one week in the field each year understanding the latest methodologies used in the industry 9. Work and share information with other departments within SSPC while minimizing duplication of efforts 10. Work with business development to uncover and pursue commercial opportunities, and to ensure sufficient and effective management of SSPC stakeholders (e.g. Coordinated communications, promotions, etc.) 11. Collaborate with the Technology and Communications department to conceive and execute promotional strategies and campaigns
