The QUIKRETE Companies have introduced an enhanced line of concrete coatings and a variety of changes to its suite of Zip & Mix and stucco products.
The new lineup, which includes a number of additions and modifications, was rolled out at the International Builders’ Show last week in Las Vegas.
Coatings and Prep Products
In its coatings line, the company has combined a light semi-transparent base with a dark semi-transparent accent in a two-part process designed to provide repeatable coating application and designs. Available in tan, gray, brown and terracotta, the system is suitable for walkways, pool decks, sidewalks, patios and other concrete surfaces.
The product will be available later this spring at home centers nationwide for about $25-$30 per gallon.

QUIKRETE also announced improvements to the surface preparation product in its epoxy garage floor coating system. The changes are designed to improve resistance to hot tire pickup.
The one-step cleaning, decreasing and etching process using this product maximizes the bond between concrete surface and protective barrier over a long period of time regardless of vehicle traffic, according to the company.
Zip & Mix Packaging
Following the launch of Zip & Mix—FastSet Repair Mortar in 2012, QUIKRETE is now offering its Vinyl Concrete Patcher, Hydraulic Water-Stop Cement, Anchoring Cement and Mortar Mix in the same packaging that allows mixing of the material directly in its pouch.
Users unzip the package pouch, break through the protective seal, add the required water, and knead the mixture to the desired consistency. No pail or trowel is required. Detailed instructions are available on each product.
Base Coat Stucco—Fiber Reinforced
The company has also upgraded its existing base coat stucco products by adding synthetic fibers, which is designed to increase sag resistance and reduce potential for shrinkage cracking while improving flexural strength.

QUIKRETE Base Coat Stucco—Fiber Reinforced Pump Grade can be spray-applied at high pressure over steel studs, masonry, dens glass, OSB, lath and other cladding material. Both base coat stucco products are available in 80-pound bags and 3,000-pound bags, which require a silo system for application.
