Diamond Vogel has announced the debut of its PureColor Zero-VOC Colorant System.
The company is the latest in a line of paint makers advancing technology to focus on zero-VOC colorant systems.

In certain color formulations for paint, 150 grams per liter of volatile organic compounds could be added from traditional colorants, the company said in announcing its new system Tuesday, Jan. 22.
"We knew if it was possible to eliminate such a large contributing source of VOCs we should do it regardless that it’s not mandated by law or green rating systems," said Doug Vogel, vice-president of trade marketing.
'Enhances the Paint'
The new colorant system is reported to enhance the paint—improving color fastness and hide.
Further, the colorants match Diamond Vogel's preceding colorant system to allow for continued tinting of previous color formulas, the company adds.
"We knew we could provide more for our customers than just a zero VOC colorant option," said Perry Foreman, trade product manager for Diamond Vogel. "The PureColor system increases our products' performance.”
When used in combination with Diamond Vogel's zero-VOC product lines, such as Health Kote Interior Latex Finishes, the colorants offer a "true, zero-VOC system," the company adds.
Availability
The new system is currently available in a majority of the company's 66 Diamond Vogel Service Centers, located in 12 states. Full availability is scheduled for March 1.
