Icynene Corp. has introduced Icynene Classic Max, an open-cell spray polyurethane foam insulation that’s been approved for use without an ignition barrier in residential projects.

The SPF can be used throughout the home and in unvented attics without an ignition barrier.

The 100 percent water-blown, low-density SPF is billed as a "revolutionary innovation" in the industry.

An International Code Council-Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) report confirms that Icynene Classic Max can be sprayed throughout an entire residential structure without an ignition barrier, including unvented attics, the company says.

Features and Availability

Icynene Classic Max also offers “superior” spray performance, adhesion, drip-free application and advanced air-pocket control, according to the company.

The insulation can be used in any climate and is low odor, the company adds.

The product is available through select Icynene-certified dealers throughout the U.S.

Based in Mississauga, ON, Icynene Corp. is a 26-year-old manufacturer of open- and closed-cell SPF products and air barrier materials used to improve energy-efficiency in residential and commercial structures.
