The St. Louis (MO) Convention and Visitors Commission will accept sealed bids Oct. 18 for floor coating work at the Edward Jones Dome at America’s Center.

The owner conducted a mandatory pre-bid conference Oct. 9 to discuss project particulars and view the work area.

The facility was built in 1995 to lure an NFL team to St. Louis. The then-Los Angeles Rams accepted.

The $280 million facility was opened in 1995. The structure had been built to attract a National Football League team to St. Louis, and successfully lured the Rams from Los Angeles. The dome has a seating capacity of approximately 66,000, with retractable seating enabling multiple configurations for a variety of non-football events.

Scope of Work

The project involves applying an epoxy floor coating to seating areas, stairs, vertical risers, and portal entryways in the stadium’s club level.

Diamond grinders will be used to remove laitance and surface contaminants, and to achieve a coarse surface profile meeting ICRI CSP 2 standards.

The concrete will be refinished with an amine epoxy primer and finish, with a polypropylene homopolymer additive to increase skid resistance. The project also includes applying safety striping on stairs, as well as stenciled seat numbers and lettering, using a compatible epoxy coating.
