Durability + Design will present a free webinar, “D+D Specifiers Series Part 3: Diamond-polished Concrete: New Spin on an Old Technology,” scheduled for 11 a.m. EDT Wednesday, May 23.
In this third installment in a series of six webinars targeting specifiers, the presentation will center on the basic characteristics of polished concrete floors and the processes used to produce densified and polished floors of this type.
In addition, the session will discuss the requirements to achieve the optimum installation of the concrete slab and those that should be enumerated in the concrete specification.
All professionals interested in the process of selection of materials are invited.

The webinar will be presented by Walter Scarborough (SCI, SCIP AIA), Dallas regional manager for HALL Building Information Group LLC and a registered architect and specifier with more than 30 years of technical experience with a range of building types.
Scarborough is revision author for CSI Project Delivery Practice Guide; co-author of the college textbook Building Construction, Principles, Materials and Systems, now in its second edition; has written numerous articles for periodicals; has taught college courses; has given presentations at local, state, regional, and national conferences; is active in the Construction Specifications Institute at national and chapter levels; is past president of the Dallas CSI chapter; is a member of the Institute Education Committee; has CDT, CCS, and CCCA certifications from CSI; received CSI’s J.
