NewLook International Inc. (Salt Lake City, Utah) introduced ProtéShield™, a water-based inorganic elastomeric polymer sealer for surfaces and materials that need to be resistant to water and other liquids.
The company also announced the introduction of PermaPlate™, a two-component aliphatic polyurethane coating formulated for industrial and commercial use.
ProtéShield
Billed as “revolutionary,” the sealer is recommended for waterproofing, winterizing and protecting most porous building materials such as concrete, pavers, concrete block, stone, wood, and brick, the company says.
The product is reported to protect surfaces against ultraviolet radiation, excessive temperatures ice, water, chlorinated water, saltwater, rain, acid rain, salts and other chlorides, rust, mold, fungus, insects, chemicals, oil, fuel, and stains.
The sealer complies with the “most restrictive” VOC content limits and is classified as non-hazardous and non-toxic, the company says.
Typical application is with a 3/8” nap roller, brush or sprayer (pump or pressurized) on vertical and horizontal surfaces, the company says.
PermaPlate
The company says this new coating can be used where a flexible, abrasive- and chemical- resistant, durable antigraffiti coating is required.
The product is recommended for use on a range of surfaces, including concrete, masonry, stucco, bricks, pavers, fuel tanks, aircraft and aircraft handling equipment, and industrial floors, the company says.
The two-component product contains no isocyanates and is eco-friendly, the company says, and is reported to offer the “durability of a polyurethane with the elasticity of an epoxy.”
Recommended application methods include spray, notched squeegee and porcupine roller.
