ACA Partners with ChemQuest for New Edition of ‘U.S. Paint and Coatings Market Report’

The American Coatings Association (ACA) announced that The ChemQuest Group Inc. will serve as its partner in developing the organization’s U.S. Paint & Coatings Industry Market Analysis: 2010-2015, publication.

The market study is scheduled for release in December 2011.

ChemQuest is an international strategic management consulting firm with 35 years of specialization in the coatings, adhesives and specialty chemicals market sectors. ACA said the firm has earned a “sterling reputation for the highest-quality research.”

“ACA’s Market Analysis is a dynamic tool that will assist companies in making important tactical and strategic decisions at all levels of their business,” said Allen Irish, ACA counsel and director of industry affairs.

The analysis profiles performance of the coatings industry’s 21 market sectors over the past two years and projects sector performance for the five-year period following the most recent industry U.S. Census figures, the association said.

In addition to processing the U.S. Census data, the report will also incorporate “real world” interviews with key industry experts whose insights provide a solid base for analyzing the impact of trends and issues in major market segments along the paint and coatings supply chain.

The new edition will also include special chapters addressing industry mergers and acquisitions, regulatory issues, raw material trends, technology trends, and green/sustainability issues.

“ChemQuest will also analyze the business attractiveness of each market segment based on proven indicators such as segment industry structure, Porter Analysis, profit trends, and growth trends,” said George R. Pilcher, ChemQuest vice president. “For the first time ever, subscribers of the ACA Market Analysis will be afforded the opportunity to make direct comparisons among coatings market segments with regard to market attractiveness.”

The report will succeed ACA’s U.S. Paint & Coatings Market Analysis (2008-2013).
