Hamilton County, Ohio is inviting bids for concrete repairs, including coatings work, at the Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.
Bids are due June 15.
Major League Baseball’s Cincinnati Reds entertain fans at this 42,271-seat stadium located on the banks of the Ohio River. The Reds organization is baseball’s first professional franchise, established in 1869.

The park was opened in 2003 and is praised for innovative features and “breathtaking views” the Reds website boasts.
Statues located throughout the ballpark honor the club’s past stars, including Ted Kluszewski, Ernie Lombardi, Joe Nuxhall and Frank Robinson.
The project
The base bid repairs include abrasive-blast cleaning of deteriorated concrete and exposed rebar, and applying a zinc coating to the rebar prior to mortar application.
The contract includes an add alternate for 2,000 square feet of shot-blast cleaning and penetrating, migrating corrosion inhibitor application and 2,000 square feet of water or abrasive blast cleaning and non-skid, pedestrian traffic-bearing, waterproofing membrane application on two existing pedestrian bridges. The bridges provide access to the administration building at the ballpark.
The engineer for the project is THP Limited Inc. of Cincinnati.
