Bayer MaterialScience LLC introduced Baytec™ Sil 100, a 100% solids silicone elastomeric coating for protection of roofs and other architectural surfaces.
The coating does not contain petroleum solvents, is low odor and low VOC, and meets LEED guidelines and other industry standards, the company says.
The one-component material is reported to produce a breathable and durable membrane, with “superior” weathering and water resistance characteristics, the company says.
It can be used alone and in combination with spray polyurethane foam for the restoration of most roofing types. It can be applied as a topcoat over polyurethane elastomeric base coats for improved traffic and impact resistance, the company says. Other product features are reported to include the following.
• Inorganic materials that provide durability and longer wear.
• Easy application with a sprayer, roller or brush.
• Application at low temperatures, to 10°C.
• No thinning or reducing required.
