Approximately 10 years ago, the east exterior wall of the building was coated with an elastomeric waterproof system that is now deteriorated and peeling.
Howell & Howell will recoat the entire wall with two coats of an owner-approved elastomeric waterproofing material. Primer should be applied if recommended by the coating manufacturer.
The project also includes ensuring all joints and flashing are properly sealed, removing old sealant and re-sealing as necessary.
The surface preparation involves pressure washing at 1500 psi maximum, wire brushing or grinding the wall surface to remove all dirt, dust, frost, oil, grease, mildew, fungus, efflorescence, laitance, peeling coating, and other foreign material.
Cracks larger than 1/16-inch are required to be repaired with a material compatible with the substrate and the coating material.
