Scott Paint Company of Sarasota, Fla., signed a term contract with the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County (Fla.) to recycle latex paint as part of the Authority’s Household Hazardous Waste program. The 1-year-term contract, which includes options to extend the agreement for two additional years, has an estimated annual value of $50,000.

The owner anticipates recycling an estimated 150,000 pounds of surplus paint and purchasing an estimated 10,000 gallons of reprocessed paint.
The recycled latex paint shall be of comparable quality to a new exterior paint, shall contain a minimum of 50% post-consumer recycled content, and must include material safety data sheets.
