Durability + Design Coatings-Removal Webinar Scheduled for Wednesday: Focus is Masonry

Ken Trimber, KTA-Tator Inc., will present a Durability + Design webinar on good practice in removing paint from masonry substrates at 11 a.m. EDT Wednesday (Oct. 27).

The webinar will describe several technical approaches to removal of paint from masonry, including abrasive blasting, water jetting and chemical stripping, and will review the pros and cons of each approach on substrates such as cement block and brick.

Trimber is president of KTA-Tator, a coatings consulting firm, and is known widely in the coatings industry for his work on standards and his publication of numerous books and articles on various aspects of coating work, in particular surface preparation. He is a past president of SSPC and chairman of its Surface Preparation Committee, and was named its Coating Specialist of the Decade. He has also served as chairman of ASTM Committee D1 on Paint and Related Coatings and Materials, and has received the ASTM Award of Merit.
