A new line of wood frames has combined steel with a wood veneered metal for an aesthetically pleasing barrier to radiant and conductive heat transfer, according to Technical Glass Products (Snoqualmie, Washington).

The company unveiled the Fireframes TimberLine last week in a press release, saying the line brings the look of wood to design professionals that meets fire safety criteria.

Made in the United States, the company says the product is available with fire-resistance ratings up to 120 minutes for interior applications.

“Architects are drawn to the beauty and warmth of wood frames, but their options have been limited for fire separations,” said Jeff Razwick, president of Technical Glass Products. “That’s why we developed the Fireframes TimberLine Series. It not only provides design professionals with a real-wood finish in areas requiring fire resistance, but also the strength and design flexibility they’ve come to expect from today’s fire-rated frames.”

Made in the United States, the company says the product is available with fire-resistance ratings up to 120 minutes for interior applications, and is classified and labeled with UL.

The frames are available in a variety of wood species including white maple, cherry, fir and oak. The company also notes that the TimberLine series can be combined with Pilkington Pyrostop fire-rated glass. It can also accommodate its Fireframes Designer and Heat Barrier Series door systems and is compatible with wood doors by other manufacturers as well.
