A new polyurethane roofing adhesive from Soprema (Wadsworth, OH) is touted by the company as a higher-performing update to its Duotack product, capable of application at especially low temperatures.

Duotack 365 is a low-rise, two-part polyurethane made to adhere insulation and cover boards to approved substrates.

Roofing adhesive application

Duotack 365 is a low-rise, two-part polyurethane made to adhere insulation and cover boards to approved substrates.

The new product meets all the same standards as the original Duotack formulation, according to Soprema, and can be used on the same substrates, which include the company’s Sopravap’r vapor barrier; certain structural decks or prepared substrates; or applications in which multiple layers of boards are adhered together.

Low-Temperature Application

Duotack 365 can be used in especially low temperatures; for use in cold-weather applications, the company advises conditioning the product to a minimum of 14 degrees Fahrenheit. By contrast, original Duotack cannot be stored under 32 degrees and must be conditioned at a higher temperature.

The company says the adhesive is tack-free in 10 to 12 minutes at 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

Duotack 365 has a 12-month shelf life when stored properly, and comes in several different containers. A dual cartridge of the product covers 100 to 150 square feet, according to Soprema. Duotack 365 is also available in 10-gallon cubitainer sets and 50-gallon drums.
