The new issue of D+D In Depth features a preview for the upcoming Greenbuild International Conference & Expo geared to the architectural coatings professional, as well as a look at four decorative painting and restoration projects.
The September 2016 issue, released via email Wednesday (Sept. 28) and available at this link, also features expert advice on silicone sealants and specification of coatings for architectural metals.
In his article, “Talking the Talk at Greenbuild: How Manufacturers Describe Their Green Paint,” Harold Hower, Technology Publishing founder and contributing editor, focuses on the language choices used by coatings suppliers who will tout their product offerings at the Greenbuild Expo, Oct. 5-7 in Los Angeles. He also analyzes two recent technical articles focused on “green” paint technology and advances.
Hower’s “Decorative Painting and Restoration: A Photo Essay” highlights four decorative projects led by EverGreene Architectural Arts, John Canning & Co., John Pugh and Conrad Schmitt Studios Inc.
Jon Kimberlain, of Dow Corning Corp., charts the development of structural and protective silicone glazing in his article, “Silicone Sealants’ Evolving Role in Structural and Protective Glazing.”
The issue also includes “Specifying Coatings for Architectural Metals,” in which Gabriel Morales-Sada of AkzoNobel provides a primer on choosing the correct coating system for aluminum or galvanized steel substrates.
