Former Benjamin Moore Exec Leads EasyPaint

The new president of an on-demand painting service is a familiar face in the coatings industry.

Denis Abrams, the former CEO of Benjamin Moore, has been named the new president and COO of EasyPaint, according to the online zine Technical.ly. Most recently, Abrams had served as the DC-based on-demand painting company’s executive vice president of business development.

“Every business has inflection points,” Abrams said in a statement provided to the tech magazine. “You use experience to try to recognize them and take necessary action.”

Previous Experience

The CEO of EasyPaint, Marty Cornish, reportedly said that Abrams is an “experienced player with proven track record of success during his tenure at Benjamin Moore.” Cornish went on to say that this experience will be critical as EasyPaint looks to continue to grow.

In the same article, Technical.ly reported that the on-demand painting company announced it is experiencing 100 percent growth each month since it was launched in early 2015.

Startup Service

As previously reported, EasyPaint was established by Cornish—a former Sherwin-Williams’ paint store manager—with the aim to revolutionize the way consumers find and hire painters.

Through the company’s website (EasyPaint.com), consumers answer a few questions, submit photos of the spaces that they want to have painted and schedule the date and time for their project to be completed. EasyPaint matches the consumer with a contractor, and the consumer receives an all-inclusive quote within 24 hours.


In September 2015, the company was one of 25 startups chosen to compete for a $50,000 grand prize at the annual TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco. Although the company didn’t win, the company said it will keep up its zest to take “the pain out of painting.”

Technical.ly said EasyPaint isn’t the only model of online, on-demand painting services. Paintzen, based in New York City, recently extended its reach into the DC market, the zine said. That company, the new source said, has a larger reach with services offered not only in New York and DC but also San Francisco and Boston.
