Wall Made to Control Heat, Moisture

BASF Corp. has developed a single integrated wall-enclosure system designed to deliver control of heat, air and moisture as well as increased structural integrity.

Three BASF products were used to create the HP+ Wall System, according to a company statement. Those products are Neopor, a graphite-enhanced and rigid thermal insulation; Walltite HP+, a closed-cell, spray-applied polyurethane; and Enershield, an air- and water-resistant resilient coating that protects above-grade wall substrates.

The HP+ Wall System helps builders improve Home Energy Rating System index scores and can be customized for various climates, according to manufacturer BASF.

BASF says the system is designed for the residential construction industry.

Further, the company says the combination of components make the design capacity of the HP+ Wall System "up to 135 percent greater" than that of a wall built with standard construction methods, according to AWC Special Design Provisions—Wind  and Seismic (SDPWS), Section 4.3, with equations derived from ASTM E2126 testing.

The company also says the wall system helps builders improve Home Energy Rating System (HERS) index scores and can be customized for various climates or in areas where disaster-resilience is necessary.

my guess is that the insulation is expanded polystyrene. the graphite opacifies it to IR
