Building Scientist to Keynote D+D 2014

Building-science expert Joseph Lstiburek, Ph.D., P.Eng., ASHRAE Fellow, will deliver the keynote address at D+D 2014, the first Durability + Design Conference and Exhibition, next year in Cincinnati.

Lstiburek, an acclaimed public speaker, will open the three-day event May 20 at the historic Hilton Netherland Plaza Hotel.

Dr. Joe Lstiburek has lectured, written and testified widely on building construction and building failures. His areas of expertise include air barriers and construction technology.

A principal at Building Science Corporation, in Somerville, MA, Lstiburek is an expert in air barriers and other areas of construction technology.

He will head a line-up of architects, contractors and manufacturers presenting papers on the conference theme, “Advances in Protective and Aesthetic Technologies for Buildings.”

Lstiburek has written numerous books and technical papers on building construction and has conducted forensic investigations into, and testified about, building failures nationwide.

D+D 2014 is hosted by Technology Publishing Co., which also publishes D+D News.

The show is designed to integrate the technical communities of specifiers, architects, contractors and building owners through their shared interest in building performance and aesthetics.

Conference topics will include architectural coatings, air barriers, polished concrete finishes, fire-resistive materials, sealers, and best practices for their use.

Online registration for the conference opens Nov. 4.
