Good article but I question the following statement. "Acrylic elastomeric coatings are typically applied at thicknesses of up to 20 to 30 mils dry film per coat" Perhaps this is a typo and should be wet film. Most acrylic coatings have volume solids of from 50-60%. To achieve 30 mils dry with a 50% solids product would require applying materials at approximately 3.5 gallons per 100 square feet in 1 coat. I would suggest that for most (if not all) acrylic coatings this would cause significant problems during the drying process and result in poor film formation.
