With those kind of cooling results (175F for Black 110 for White) How long would it take for a return on the investment I'm wondering...

The really neat thing is that the roof needed refurbishment anyway - the owner just made an energy-smart choice. The extra cost should be pretty small. Similarly, when I had to replace the roof on my house last year, I chose a light-colored Energy Star shingle. It ended up the same price as "normal" shingles (unlike some shingle suppliers) - and my attic is noticeably cooler in the summer.
